He slowly climbs out of bed, holding Kristie’s hand up before gently placing it on the bed. Then he tiptoes out of the bedroom, closing the door quietly behind him. Once downstairs, he needs a drink. He gets a bottle of Perrier from the refrigerator, snaps it open, and drinks it from the bottle.

Then out of the corner of his eye, he sees his favorite bottle of Havana Club rum. This will help calm my nerves, he thinks to himself. Getting a tumbler out of the cupboard and a sphere of ice out the freezer, he places the ice in the glass and pours himself a generous helping of rum. He takes a long slow sip, swallows, and then breathes out, feeling the warmth of the liquor as it travels down.
